Hard Hats and Heels 2012

Connie is a hard working mother of six. Connie started working when she was twelve years old and has not stopped since. One of Connie’s lifetime goals has been to purchase her own home. As a full-time worker and a full-time student, she believed she was on the path to accomplishing those goals. However, instead of getting closer and closer to her dreams, she drifted further and further from them. Due to her family’s large size, housing on a budget has been increasingly problematic. This problem culminated in her family’s recent, unforeseen eviction. Connie was unable to find appropriate housing to meet her family’s needs and was facing the very real possibility of her family becoming homeless. As a devout Christian, Connie always believed that if she worked hard and stayed faithful, God would provide her with a way to accomplish her goals. And Connie was right. Connie learned of an informational meeting being held about an organization called the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity. At this meeting, God gave Connie the answer to her prayers. Connie applied for a zero interest home loan through GGBHFH. And, Connie’s application was accepted for one of the six builds this organization was going to complete in the 2012 build season. For the first time in her life, in her family’s history, she was going to own her home. The greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity was able to put God’s love into action, by bringing people together to build Connie a home and a community for her and her family.
