Committee Volunteers

Committees and committee volunteers are very important to the long-term health and viability of our organization. Committee members may be drawn from the board of directors, Habitat staff, active volunteers, and other interested individuals—including homeowners and potential homeowners. Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity has the following committees:

Construction Committee

The Construction Committee works with the Site Selection Committee to define the type of construction that best fits the needs of the local community and Habitat's goals. The committee proposes guidelines to the Board for the type of construction work that the affiliate will do, dealing specifically with the house design criteria, materials, plans, and cost estimates. For more information about this committee please contact Dan.

Event Planning Committee
The Event Planning Committee organizes and implements special events for our affiliate. Our committee's main area of focus is our signature event, Hard Hats and Heels, which is held annually in October. From marketing to decorations, there's sure to be an area of interest that will tap into your skill set! Please contact Katie
if you'd like to get involved.

Faith Relations Committee
The Faith Relations Committee works to create stronger ties with the local religious community. We seek volunteers who are active within their own places of worship and have a passion for Habitat's mission to act as Habitat liaisons, or "Church Champions."  This is a great opportunity for people of all ages and faiths who are looking for ways to put their faith into action! Contact Katie for more information.

Family Selection Committee

The Family Selection Committee works to carry out the board's vision by defining for the community the population in need of decent, affordable housing, and by developing processes and policies for selecting those in greatest need. Once the application process has been approved, this group will work with families who have applied, making sure that the applicant families meet the established criteria. Working with the Family Selection Committee, you will find certain joy in making what seems an unobtainable dream come true for some of these families. For more information about this committee, please contact Larry.

Family Support Committee

The Family Support committee is committed to "the development and uplifting of families and communities, not only the construction of houses." Members of the Family Support Committee will work to establish tools and procedures for accomplishing this task. Once approved, this committee will work with families to be sure that the families know what is required in the area of sweat equity, and to help in the transition of true home-ownership. For more information about this committee, please contact Larry.

Site Selection Committee

The Site Selection Committee works to define neighborhoods and communities to work with and find available land to build on. This includes working with city offices, neighborhood associations, and property owners. Those who like to dabble in real estate would be natural members! For more information about this committee, please contact Jeff.
